Jade Chancing Smith Ridout
Jade is an 18-year-old George Mason University Ambassador that is majoring in nursing. She is also a Content Creator and Business Owner who enjoys creating original content to inspire others, so they know they are enough. Jade has shared that she created the You Are Enough (YAE) campaign for the following reason:
"Throughout my early teenage years, I was faced with unrealistic images which caused me to want to be thinner and resulted in me losing 80 pounds however after achieving this goal I realized I did not have to become what I saw in the media. In May of 2020 I created my You Are Enough campaign because I wanted to create a positive environment on social media versus one of constant comparison. The program is one that I share with others to inform them that they are uniquely made, and they possess everything they need to be successful in life with hard work and determination. The philosophy behind it is that you don’t have to change who you are or try to fit into a mold because your unique qualities and perspectives are needed to create a world of diversity and inclusion." Interesting Facts: Jade has traveled to 15 countries including China where she taught English to her peers; As a former Natural Hair Influencer she interacted daily with her peers to build their spirit; She was an avid Shot Put and Disc Thrower for her high school varsity team. Additionally, she was a 2023 Panelist for the "What's the Dilemma?" Youth Conference.
